Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us and this Privacy Policy covers GIVE.BB treatment of personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) and other data that GIVE.BB when Users access the Payment Platform and its related services and functionalities (collectively the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to online and mobile digital channels and services owned or operated by the Government of Barbados (“GIVE.BB”).

We encourage Users to read this Privacy Policy so that they understand how GIVE.BB collects, uses, shares and protects your Personal Information. We may ask your permission before collecting certain information through the platform.

  1. Personal Information About You:

Personal Information essential for fulfilling most financial requests and applications include:

  1. Information establishing your identity– such as your name, address, phone number, title, business phone number, email address, national registration number, NIS number, and account numbers. This information can be in any form including paper and electronic;
  1. Information to authenticate your identity– such as knowledge-based information (i.e. username, password, security questions),
  1. Information related to transactions– arising from your relationship with and through BB such as service account information, licence number, map reference number.
  2. Additional information– this may be requested to help us determine your eligibility for services that are offered.

  1. Collection and Usage of Personal Information

2.1. General Information

2.1.1 The GIVE.BB Platform may receive and store Personal Information that a User enters while accessing the service or using the Services or when a User provides to the GIVE.BB platform upon signing up to become a registered user. For the avoidance of doubt the Terms and Conditions outlined under the GIVE.BB Payment Platform Agreement also applies.

2.1.2 The GIVE.BB Payment Platform may use your Personal Information to establish your identity, maintain and deliver new Services.

2.1.3 The GIVE.BB Payment Platform may also customize the advertising and content on the platform, communicate with the User about new services of the platform. The GIVE.BB Payment Platform may also draw upon this Personal Information in order to adapt the Services to User needs, to research the effectiveness and benefits of the Services and to develop new services.

  1. Use of Cookies

3.1. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web site that is saved on a User’s hard disk by the User’s computer’s browser. It holds information a site may need to personalize a user’s experience. The GIVE.BB Platform will use cookies for saving the user preferences for e.g. accessibility (high contrast, font size and text to speech). Additionally, cookies will be used to store session data.

3.2. The GIVE.BB Payment Platform may use cookies as part of the functionality and security of the EZpay+ Payment Platform. Cookie technology does not capture individual email addresses or any Personal Information and is used to improve User experience on the GIVE.BB Payment Platform

3.3. To browse without cookies, a User can configure his browser to reject cookies or to notify User when a cookie is set. The GIVE.BB Payment Platform does not manage and is not responsible for the digital marketing and cookie practices of third parties. User experience of GIVE.BB Payment Platform may be different if User set his browser to block cookies.

  1. Sharing of Personal Information

4.1. The GIVE.BB Platform may share User Personal Information with its employees, agents and service providers who are specially selected to perform the tasks related specifically to the GIVE.BB Platform and/or the Services. The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations employees, agents and services providers are required to provide a comparable level of protection and confidentiality of User Personal Information. The Government of Barbados – Labour and Social Partnership Relations may also be required to share Personal Information with government agencies, public bodies, regulators or other entities where permitted or required by law.

  1. Security of Personal Information

5.1. The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations takes the protection of your Personal Information seriously. Each User’s Personal Information is protected by a password for privacy and security. It is User’s responsibility to prevent unauthorized access to User’s account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting his/her User password appropriately, and limiting access to User’s computer and browser by signing off after User has finished accessing his/her account, as detailed in the GIVE.BB Platform Terms and Conditions.

5.2 While the Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations endeavours to safeguard each User’s Personal Information to ensure that each User’s account information is kept private, the GIVE.BB Payment Platform cannot guarantee the security of User’s account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of User information at any time and User understands, acknowledges and assumes this risk.

5.3. Users are encouraged not to respond to text messages, pop-ups or other internet requests that ask you to reveal Personal Information or Bank Card Information. The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations will not send unsolicited text messages or emails asking for your password, personal identification number or your Bank Account number(s) or any other information related thereto. You are encouraged to review your electronic receipts and report any errors in a timely manner.

5.4 For the avoidance of doubt, Users agree to assist the Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations in any investigation into any fraudulent activity linked to GIVE.BB Platform Account accessed via the Services.

  1. Amendments to Privacy Policy

6.1. The GIVE.BB Platform Privacy Policy is to be read together with the GIVE.BB Platform Terms and Conditions. The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time in its sole and absolute discretion. The terms governing use, collection and storage of Personal Information will be the terms prevailing at the time when such Personal Information is submitted or provided in other way to GIVE.BB Platform by the User. Users are encouraged to read periodically this Privacy Policy. The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations; however, remains committed to providing notifications of any material change made to the Privacy Policy. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they continue to access or use the GIVE.BB Platform to make payment to the Government Services after such amendments.

  1. Other Information

7.1. It is our goal to continuously improve our service offerings to Users. Therefore, The Government of Barbados – Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations may routinely collect non-personal aggregate information from surveys, public archives and web sites to help us understand the interests of our customers.
